Camponotus Vicinus- Carpenter Ants

Camponotus vicinus (Mayr) is a common carpenter ant species found in the Pacific Northwest mainly in Eastern Washington.  During a Wenatchee home inspection I found this little guy wandering around.

Like all carpenter ants they don’t consume wood like termites.  They excavate wood to make their nests.
