Don was incredible to work with! I initially found him through an informative blogpost he wrote regarding a unique issue we had encountered with an investment property we purchased. When my husband called to speak with him, he took the time to go over the possibilities and inform him of the process. He also put us in touch with some great resources which we ended up using and being to our satisfaction. The inspection Don did on our home was very thorough and he took the time to keep me informed and educate me on what he was coming across as he went along since I was on the premises. He followed up with a very comprehensive report which included pictures, diagrams, and even laws that referenced why something was not in compliance. He also provided actions that could be taken and resources to call upon. He has a great personality and his customer service skills are top notch – don’t hesitate to use NCW Home Inspections for your inspection needs.

This is an attempt to give an outstanding, over the top, review of our recent home inspector, Don Hester. First of all, he goes above and beyond because he is passionate about what he does and REALLY knows all there is to know about home inspections! We had several issues with our home and Don spent hours with us. He was very thorough and his inspection included bugs, rodents, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues, (both inside and outside the home). He includes images of what issues currently look like and makes recommendations to improve, repair, or replace for each issue in each category. Included in his recommendations, he has images of how each issue could be repaired and references websites for your information. This gives you options. He gives you the best inspection, (not just to code), but beyond, if that is what you are will to do for your situation. What is most important to you and what can you live with? We had one recent pest control contractor, David Kaylor, owner of Harvest Valley Pest Control, (who Don recommended to us), tell us, "That we got the best inspector in the state of Washington." That is how we feel. He was very knowledgeable about EVERYTHING, is very intelligent, has a great sense of humor, (actually made the inspection fun), has a passion for sharing to help others learn, and just a great guy! Don did a wonderful, amazing job for us and we highly recommend him for your home inspection!

Don Hester handled the inspection for the condo I wished to purchase. Since I am not in the area, he coordinated with my son who is. Don was easy for my son to work with, scheduling the visit when my son could get time from his job. Both my son and I (and the real estate agent) were highly impressed by the care he took and the suggestions he made. His inspection was very thorough. He covered everything I could have thought of and more. The details he included, and his logic explaining what he described, was of great help to me in getting back to the seller for remediation, and, especially since I wasn't there to look in more detail myself, greatly relieved my apprehension about any problems that there might have been which would have come back to haunt me after the sale. I would most highly recommend Don to anyone who needs a thorough, professional inspection.

I have purchased and sold many homes using an inspector for both buying and selling. Don Hester is by far the best ever used. As others have said, his detail work, thorough documentation and up to date technology tools are far above any I've used in the past. He patiently explains what he observes if you are onsight with him. His written reports include written documentation with supporting digital photos, and links for further information. He confirmed all of our concerns about an expensive potential purchase and pointed out other areas of initial building practices that were causing present day issues that would be costly to repair/replace. Being armed with that type of information allows a house buyer to make a more realistic purchase price offer. He sets the bar high for any other inspector. I would use no other person.

My husband and I would highly recommend NCW Home Inspections LLC for your home inspection needs! Don is very thorough, informative, and makes you feel confident that he knows what he is talking about. He supports what he says by including backup articles, documentation, websites, even videos if you have questions on specific topics you have never heard of before, like he did for us when we had never heard about a pump being used to carry waste up to city sewers from a home we were considering. Our report was delivered very quickly by email and was 104 pages, or more, I want to say , of items that were of concern or should be fixed immediately , going to be needing service & should be monitored. We plan on calling on him again when we find another home we'd like to consider. He also inspected a home our daughter and her husband ended up purchasing and helped with getting some repairs taken care of by the previous owners that saved her some money in the future! Does a great job!

Agents worst nightmare!!! ;) Let's see our agent gave us a list of three different inspectors (NCW Home Inspections LLC was not one of them), one number no longer was active, second number the inspector was unreachable never returned our call so we went with the third and last because we didn't know any better. The inspector missed MOLD, which was very obvious to someone moving from the Westside. When I pointed it out he acted as if I had lost my mind and that it was nothing. We closed the deal, but after the first major rainfall we realized that we had a leak in the roof right above where the ceiling was moldy.

With the next home purchase I decided to go with Don Hester, NCW Home Inspections LLC. He is absolutely AMAZING! Incredibly detail oriented, and will take the time to inspect everything that is accessible. He does not cut corners. On a personal level he is fun to talk to and is willing to have you tag along with him through out the inspection. His reports are long (around 100 pages), detailed and accompanied with pictures. He might be a bit more expensive than most ($50-$100 more, depending on the size of the property), but there is a good reason for that.

My feeling is that on such a large purchase as a home it's worth to pay a little more for an exceptional inspector that will save you much more than you paid for him in the long run. He works for YOU and not for the agents. His inspections are there to educate you about your soon to be purchase and not to steer you in any direction.

Don performed an inspection on a commercial property for us - and saved us from a financial nightmare. The sellers were very nice, but deliberately mislead us about the condition of the building and attempted to conceal the required repairs. Don was able to reveal the extent of work needed and provided great resources. Needless to say, we didn't buy that one! Thanks Don.

When Don is done with a home inspection my clients feel like they know their home from top to bottom. After the transaction is complete he is happy to answer any questions that come up. He provides a detailed report that is easy to work with and reference. My clients find he is a good source to call upon for advise if an issue does arise with their home. He has reputable contacts other for service providers in the area too. He is a wealth of information. I am always pleased with his professionalism and pleasant attitude. It is a pleasure to work with someone as knowledgeable as Don. I highly recommend Don and am grateful to have such an enthusiastic home inspector!

Don Hester conducted a thorough inspection and produced an excellent report for our recently purchased house. The inspection required over 4 hours and addressed all aspects of the house. Don was able and willing to focus on specific questions and concerns I had about the house. He was very professional and clearly answered my questions. I was particularly impressed by his willingness to spend approximately an hour in the house’s cramped crawl space to ensure a thorough inspection of that critical area. The report was very comprehensive and clearly written with illustrations and pictures taken during the inspection to illustrate points. It also has information link throughout describing products to address problems and procedure for long term maintenance. The report definitely helped with short term decisions to purchases the house and will be a valuable resource document in the future. I highly recommend Don.

I have worked with Don on multiple occasions fixing troubled HVAC systems he has found during home inspections. There is no doubt that Don is the best! He is consistent and expects perfection from new homes and remodels! As a side effect my level of craftsmanship has improved. Before leaving any job i ask myself one question...What if Don inspected this?

Don did a fantastic job! We bought a new home and it was time for our 1 year warranty checkup on our home and being new homeowners we knew little of what we should have our builder fix as part of the warranty and with Don's inspection we learned a few things were not done correctly and needed to be fixed. We would have never known this because we knew nothing of electrical and about what needed to be "weather proofed" and he found things that if found later would have come out of our pockets, thankfully Don gave is a very detailed report with pictures that we could just show our builder, it was great! Later we had few questions and he as very prompt in answering our emails. I definitely RECOMMEND him for any home inspection.

I contacted NCW by email from their website. They followed up promptly with phone call to confirm a time to meet as we had to drive 2 1/2 hours to meet. He was early and already at work when we got there. Neat clean, well spoken and a very nice guy. He showed us what he found on the 96 year old historic home as he went along and discusssed both the good and not so good things he found. He also provided helpful suggestions about causes, solutions and options. Don arrived with all the tools including inside and outside shoes which he switched every trip through the door to make sure he was not tracking tar for the roof onto the carpets. He covered every inch of the place from the top of the roof to the depths of the crawl space and took lots of pictures all the way through. After about four hours he was done and sat down with us to go over everything he found and discuss possible resolutions. Today I recieved the final report as promised and was amazed at the detail. 90 pages including lots of pictures so I know what my crawl space looks like without the need to actually Crawl in it. Ditto the attic, roof, etc. The report includes links to websites for evry problem (including one to a website offering reproductions to replace a faulty 90 year old light switch) Just a really good job and a nice guy who charges fairly and over delivers on his services. He even had a nice locally made housewarming gift for my wife. I would highly recommend NCW to anyone needing home inspection servcies!!!

Don did a VERY thorough, detailed inspection of our house. He is knowledgeable about materials and building techniques for every system and every part of the house, and is able to communicate the issues/problems effectively verbally as well as with the use of photographs and a written description. We've been homeowners for over 20 years and have had 5 full inspections performed, two of them pre-sale and the other 3 as regular home maintenance. The inspection that NCWHI just conducted was easily the best. Don Hester spent over four hours thoroughly checking every component of the home, inside and outside. He came equipped with everything he needed to gain access, probe, and document every nook & cranny, every mechanical component, and every at-risk structural feature. After the inspection, he brought me around the house to demonstrate areas of particular concern. The written report was comprehensive, yet easy for a layperson to follow. The extensive photos were particularly helpful. Not only did the report point out problems, but it also offered solutions and good sources of information. Thorough and communicative. We felt that we were informed of any gating factors in our home purchase. We received a comprehensive report that allowed us to easily negotiate with the seller all items needing attention before we could agree to the transaction.
