Sometimes making History is not a good thing. Wildfires Washington State 2014
Yesterdays weather brought much needed relief to the many firefighters in Eastern Washington. With anticipated cooler weather and rain again today this should help with the heroic efforts by the men and women who are fighting these blazes.
Living in Eastern Washington Wildfires are part of the landscape but this year was historic.
Now that the Carlton Complex has reached 243,391 acres, about 370 square miles, and will grow more before it is completely contained. It has now surpassed the 1902 Yacolt Burn, which was previously the largest recorded fire in Washington state history.

The National Weather Service issued warnings for elevated wildfire danger in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming as new storms that will bring lighting to areas that are very dry from the summer heat.
